DevToDSA respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of our platform to do the same. As required by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), we have adopted the following policy for addressing claims of copyright infringement.

If you believe that your copyrighted material has been used on our platform in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, you may file a complaint with us following the steps outlined below.


1. Filing a Copyright Infringement Notice

If you are the copyright owner (or an authorized agent), and you believe your work has been copied or used on DevToDSA without permission, you must submit a written DMCA Takedown Notice. The notice must include the following information:

    • Full Name
    • Address
    • Email Address
    • Phone Number
  2. Identification of the Copyrighted Work:
    • A description of the copyrighted work(s) you claim has been infringed.
    • If possible, include URLs or other specific details to help us locate the material.
  3. Identification of the Infringing Material:
    • Provide the URL(s) or other information identifying the specific content you believe infringes your copyright.
  4. Statement of Good Faith:
    • A statement that you believe in good faith that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. Statement of Accuracy:
    • A declaration that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner.
  6. Signature:
    • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or their authorized representative.

2. What Happens After We Receive Your Notice

Upon receipt of a valid DMCA Takedown Notice:

  • We will review your complaint to ensure all required information is included.
  • If the notice is valid, we will remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material.
  • We will notify the user responsible for the material about the complaint and provide them with a copy of your notice.

3. Counter-Notification by User

If a user believes that the content removed due to a DMCA Takedown Notice was done so in error, they may submit a Counter-Notification. A valid Counter-Notification must include:

  1. User’s Contact Information:
    • Full Name
    • Address
    • Email Address
    • Phone Number
  2. Identification of the Removed Material:
    • A description of the content removed and its previous location on the platform.
  3. Statement of Good Faith:
    • A statement under penalty of perjury that the material was removed as a result of a mistake or misidentification.
  4. Consent to Jurisdiction:
    • A declaration that the user consents to the jurisdiction of the courts in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India for any dispute regarding the Counter-Notification.
  5. Signature:
    • A physical or electronic signature.

Upon receipt of a valid Counter-Notification, we may restore the material unless the copyright owner files a lawsuit against the user within 10 business days.


4. Repeat Infringers

We take copyright infringement seriously and will terminate user accounts that repeatedly violate copyright laws or submit infringing material to the platform.


5. False Claims

Submitting false or misleading claims of copyright infringement or Counter-Notifications is a violation of the law and may result in legal liability, including damages, court costs, and attorney’s fees.
